Recover Guyana, in collaboration with Youths on the Rise Guyana (YORG), joined in observing Breast Cancer Awareness Month through Pink Steps Sunday, an initiative dedicated to promoting cancer awareness, encouraging early detection, and inspiring community action.
Celebrating Strength and Survivorship
For the fifth consecutive year, Recover Guyana has partnered with ONE Communications for Pinktober, continuing its commitment to breast cancer awareness, early detection, and meaningful support. The 2026 campaign commenced on October 2 with an event celebrating the strength and resilience of cancer survivors and promoting awareness that translates into meaningful action.
Adventure Tour to Kaieteur Falls
An unforgettable adventure awaits! The Pink Sunflowers Cancer Survivors embarked on an exciting tour to the majestic Kaieteur Falls, embracing nature, friendship, and the joy of living in the moment.
A Day of Nature, Joy & Togetherness
The Pink Sunflowers Cancer Survivors enjoyed a refreshing trip to Gobin Farm, embracing the beauty of nature while spending quality time together. The day was filled with laughter, friendship, relaxation, and meaningful moments as the survivors connected, explored, and created lasting memories.
Promoting Health & Raising Awareness
In recognition of World Food Day, a community-focused health and wellness activity was held, promoting healthy living and breast cancer awareness. Members of the public had the opportunity to access breast cancer screening, while health vouchers were distributed to support continued healthcare.
Participants were also treated to nutritious fruit bowls and refreshing juice, highlighting the importance of making healthy food choices and taking care of our overall well-being.
Walking Together, Spreading Awareness & Hope
Recover Guyana proudly took part in the One Communications Pinktober Walk, joining others in raising awareness about breast cancer and celebrating the strength of survivors.
Empowering Through Knowledge
Recover Guyana hosted a vibrant and informative Comprehensive Wellness and Well-being Dialogue at the National Library, bringing together a diverse group of professionals and community members for meaningful conversations on health and cancer care.
Taking Breast Cancer Awareness to Santa Mission
Recover Guyana brought breast cancer awareness to the community of Santa Mission, engaging residents in important conversations about breast health, early detection, and the importance of regular screening. The outreach provided an opportunity to share knowledge, answer questions, and encourage community members to take proactive steps toward their health.
Breast Cancer Awareness Walk & Tree Wrapping
Together, Recover Guyana and Youths on the Rise Guyana walked to raise awareness, show support for those affected by cancer, and remind our communities of the importance of early detection, care, and support. Trees were transformed into symbols of hope by wrapping them in pink as a visible reminder of solidarity and awareness.
Nutritional Support for Cancer Patients
As part of its Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities, Recover Guyana distributed 40 healthy hampers containing fresh fruits and vegetables to cancer patients in the Oncology Department of the Georgetown Public Hospital, promoting nutrition, care and support during their treatment journey.
